Paul Klee at K20, described from the plaza

- One of the world's largest Klee collections

- A modern museum among older buildings
- Art history without a queue
- A plaza session with real depth
About this tour
This session describes highlights from one of the world's largest Paul Klee collections from the plaza outside the museum that holds it. You hear specific paintings explained in colour and technique, and see the modern building's setting among the older architecture of Grabbeplatz. It stays close to the entrance throughout.
We settle facing the museum and I describe two or three works slowly, since the point is depth rather than a long list. Questions come naturally between each painting. A short reading list on Klee follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone interested in modern art who wants context without a ticket. It also pairs well with the Hofgarten session for a calmer contrast right after.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Dusseldorf before heading out.
-
K20 plaza 15 min
The camera holds on the museum's black granite facade from the plaza, and I describe specific Paul Klee paintings from the collection inside, since filming them is not permitted.
-
Grabbeplatz 15 min
In the square outside, you see how the modern museum sits among older buildings, and I explain how Klee's work ended up concentrated here rather than in a larger national gallery.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Dusseldorf: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Altbier and Altstadt, worth a slower look.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
