St Peter's tower and the view it gives
Highlights
- A spire rebuilt after fire and war, more than once
- A wide view over the old town's rooftops
- Other church spires, picked out from height
- One striking vantage point
- A strong overview session
About this tour
This session looks at one of the old town's tallest churches and the view its tower offers over the surrounding rooftops. You see the brick exterior and hear how many times the spire has been rebuilt after fire and war, then take in the wider view from height. It is a short session built around one striking vantage point.
I check sound at the church entrance, then move up toward the viewing level, answering questions as the view opens up. A short note on the spire's rebuilding history follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone wanting an overview before exploring the old town on foot. It also pairs well with a Blackheads House session.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
