About this tour

This session follows the curved promenade of Playa de la Concha, from its Belle Époque railing to the view out toward Isla de Santa Clara in the middle of the bay. You see the shell-shaped beach that gives the city its Spanish name and the small island that splits the view in two. Maddi explains why this promenade became the template for seaside walkways across Spain.

The walk follows the railing at an easy pace, with Maddi pointing out architectural details on the buildings that face the beach as she goes. She answers questions about the bay's shape and history as the walk continues.

This suits anyone who wants a calm, scenic introduction to San Sebastián. It also works well as a first stop before Maddi's session on the beach's changing tides.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of San Sebastian before heading out.

  2. Belle Époque promenade 21 min

The camera follows the curved iron railing along Playa de la Concha, installed in the early twentieth century and still one of the city's most recognisable details.

  3. Isla de Santa Clara 21 min

Out in the bay, a small wooded island splits the beach's view in two, and I explain how boats still ferry visitors across in summer without needing to show the crossing itself.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about San Sebastian: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Pintxos and Parte Vieja, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
