Charles Bridge and a handful of its statues
Highlights
- One statue's full story, properly told
- Thirty statues, a careful few examined
- Originals versus later replicas
- A slower look at a famous crossing
- Baroque sculpture, up close
About this tour
This session covers Charles Bridge with a focus on a small number of its thirty Baroque statues rather than a rushed pass along the whole span. You see the bridge itself, then one statue examined properly, its story told in full. It is a slower, more detailed look at a landmark most people only photograph in passing.
I move slowly along the bridge, spending real time on one statue rather than rushing past several. Questions come as we go, and I am happy to circle back to an earlier statue if something reminds you of it. A short note on which statues are original versus replicas follows afterwards.
This suits anyone who wants real depth on the bridge's art rather than a quick overview. It also works well paired with the tower session at the bridge's end.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Prague before heading out.
-
Bridge entrance and first statues 21 min
The camera crosses onto the bridge, and I look closely at the first few of its thirty Baroque statues rather than naming them all.
-
A single statue, examined closely 21 min
We stop at one statue in particular, and I tell its full story rather than moving straight on to the next.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Prague: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Svíčková (marinated beef in cream sauce) and Josefov, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Prague time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 9 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
