About this tour

This session climbs the Metropol Parasol, the large timber structure known as Las Setas, for a wide rooftop view over the old town as the light drops. You see the honeycomb walkway up close before the camera settles on the skyline with the Giralda at its centre. It is a short, view-led session timed for the evening light.

We start on the walkway with a quick check of the wind and light, then move up to the platform for the main view, pausing there for most of the call. I keep the talking light and answer questions about the ruins found underneath as they come up.

This suits travellers who want a modern counterpoint to the older monuments, and anyone who prefers a view over a dense history lesson. It works well as an early evening session before dinner.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Seville before heading out.

  2. The walkway among the mushrooms 15 min

The camera moves along the raised walkway between the timber structure's honeycomb shapes, locally called Las Setas, and I explain how it sits above Roman and Moorish ruins found during construction.

  3. The rooftop view 15 min

From the top platform, you see the old town's rooftops spread out with the Giralda rising above them, and I point out how the structure's curves were designed to echo a nearby market's vaulted ceiling.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Seville: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Fino sherry and Triana, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
