About this tour

This evening session follows Rue des Teinturiers as its bars and galleries light up along the canal, finishing at the quieter far end of the street. You see former mill buildings now hosting evening venues and a terrace filling as the light fades. Margaux explains how the street's nightlife character only developed in recent decades, layered onto a much older industrial history.

The call opens with a sound check as the light starts to fade, then follows the canal at a measured pace. Margaux keeps a clear structure and leaves room for questions at natural pauses along the way. A short list of the stops follows by message once the session ends.

This suits anyone who has already seen the street by day and wants its evening version too. It also suits viewers simply curious about Avignon after dark.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Avignon before heading out.

  2. Rue des Teinturiers at dusk 17 min

The camera follows the canal as bar and gallery lights come on along the street. I point out which former mill buildings now host evening venues.

  3. A canalside terrace 17 min

You see a terrace filling with early evening visitors, the water reflecting the lit shopfronts behind them. I explain how this street's evening character developed only in recent decades.

  4. Quiet end of the street 17 min

The camera reaches the quieter far end of Rue des Teinturiers, fewer lights and fewer people. I point out how abruptly the evening energy fades within a short distance.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about Avignon: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Daube provençale and Rocher des Doms, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
