White Bridge and old Kutaisi's riverside streets
Highlights
- The Rioni splitting the old town
- Nineteenth-century White Bridge crossing
- Wooden balconies on riverside houses
- Kutaisi's centre, a first look
- A gentle introduction to the city
About this tour
This walk crosses Kutaisi's nineteenth-century White Bridge and follows the streets just beyond it. You see the Rioni River splitting the old town in two, then a lane of houses with wooden balconies on the far bank. It is a short, easy introduction to the city's centre.
We start right on the bridge itself, since the river view works well there, then move slowly along the lane so the balconies read clearly. I answer questions about the town's layout as we go.
It suits a first stop in Kutaisi before the hill climbs and monasteries further out, and anyone who prefers a gentle walk to start with.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
