KUMU's modern building among the old palace grounds
Highlights
- A modern museum built into a historic park
- Limestone and glass, explained up close
- Outdoor sculptures hinting at the collection
- Old grounds, new architecture
- A short, art-focused detour
About this tour
This session looks at the art museum's striking limestone exterior and the sculpture garden surrounding it, all from the grounds of the historic park it sits within. You see how the modern building was set into the natural slope, then a few outdoor sculptures that hint at the collection inside. It is a short, art-focused session in an unusual setting.
I check sound at the museum entrance, then walk the grounds at an easy pace, pausing at each sculpture for questions. A short note on the collection inside follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone interested in modern architecture or contemporary art. It also pairs well with a Kadriorg Park session.

Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
