Caffè leccese at a century-old counter
Highlights

- A marble counter serving coffee for generations
- Pasticciotti fresh from the morning oven
- The city's own twist on espresso
- A local drink explained at the source
About this tour
This session shows a historic café counter that has served caffè leccese for generations, and the pastry case beside it. You see how the drink is made, poured over ice with almond milk syrup rather than milk, and how the day's pasticciotti come out of the oven still warm. Filming stays inside the public counter area of the café.
I start at the machine as a drink is poured, explaining the local twist on espresso, then move to the pastry case for a closer look at the trays. I answer questions about specific pastries as they come up and send a short list of what we saw afterwards.
It suits anyone curious about Lecce's food habits beyond the main sights. It also works well early in the morning before a longer walking session in the old town.
Included

The camera holds on the marble counter and the old coffee machine, and I explain how caffè leccese, espresso poured over ice with almond milk syrup, became the city's signature drink.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
