Mount Srđ by cable car
Highlights
- A cable car climb above the walls
- The old town shrinking with height
- Islands and coastline from the summit
- Dubrovnik's shape, explained from above
- One of the widest views of the city
About this tour
This session rides the cable car up Mount Srđ, the hill directly above Dubrovnik's old town, for one of the widest views over the city. You see the walls and rooftops shrinking below during the climb, then the full view from the summit, taking in the old town, the islands and the coastline either side. It is the clearest way to understand Dubrovnik's shape from above.
We ride and walk stop by stop, taking questions about the climb and the view as they come rather than saving them for the end. A short list of what is visible follows once the session ends.
It suits anyone who wants Dubrovnik's layout explained from above before or after walking the walls. It also suits an early or late booking, when the light over the coast is at its best.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later
Not included

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Dubrovnik before heading out.
-
The cable car ride 21 min
The camera looks out from the cable car as it climbs, and I point out the walls and old town shrinking below with each metre gained.
-
The summit view 21 min
At the top, I turn the phone slowly across the old town, the islands and the coastline stretching either side.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Dubrovnik: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Peka-cooked dishes and Old Town, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Zagreb time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
