Tkalčićeva once the bars fill up
Highlights
- One street, two completely different characters
- A courtyard bar filling almost as fast as the street
- Zagreb's evening crowd, shown directly
- The same route seen by day and by night
- A local's honest read on where the evening moves
About this tour
This session follows Tkalčićeva street after dark, from the crowded main strip into a quieter courtyard bar just off it. You see how thoroughly the street transforms once evening sets in, and how even the side courtyards fill up fast. It stays on this one street and its immediate surroundings.
I move steadily through the crowd, checking in as the noise and the lights shift, and I answer questions about where the evening tends to move on to.
This suits anyone deciding where to spend an evening out in Zagreb. It also works well paired with the daytime version of this same street.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Zagreb before heading out.
-
Tkalčićeva Street After Dark 21 min
You see the same street I walk by day now packed with people, and I explain how completely the crowd changes the street's character once the sun goes down.
-
A Courtyard Bar 21 min
The camera moves into a courtyard just off the main street, and I point out how these quieter side spaces fill up almost as fast as the street itself once word gets around.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Zagreb: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Kremšnita (cream cake) and Lower Town, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Zagreb time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
