Church of St Blaise and the city's patron saint
Highlights
- A patron saint celebrated every February
- A statue holding the city's old skyline
- A church rebuilt after 1667
- Civic history inside a small building
- Dubrovnik's faith and identity, together
About this tour
This session looks at the Church of St Blaise, dedicated to Dubrovnik's patron saint just off Stradun. You see the church's Baroque facade and then, inside, a silver statue of the saint holding a model said to preserve the city's skyline from before the 1667 earthquake. It is a small church carrying a large amount of civic history.
We start outside with a sound check, then move inside for the second stop, keeping the tone respectful given the setting. Questions are welcome throughout, and a short note follows the call.
It suits visitors with an interest in Dubrovnik's religious and civic history together. It also suits a booking around early February, when the saint's festival is at its liveliest.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
