Minnewater, the Lake of Love
Highlights
- A lake with a romantic legend
- Swans on quiet water
- An old lock house, still standing
- Bruges' calmer southern edge
- The Lake of Love, explained properly
About this tour
This session covers Minnewater, the small lake known locally as the Lake of Love, and the park path around it. You see the water and its swans and hear the legend behind the nickname, then walk the path past an old lock house that once controlled canal traffic here. It is a short, calm session away from the busier centre.
We start with a sound check by the water, since it stays fairly quiet outside peak hours. I move along the path for the second stop and take your questions about the legend or the lock house as we go. A short reading note follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone who wants a calmer, more visual session over a history-heavy walk. It also works well as a closing session after a longer day in the centre.

Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
