A quiet walk through Oliwa Park
Highlights
- Ponds beside the old bishops' palace
- Old trees near the park entrance
- Quieter paths away from the crowds
- A calmer side of Oliwa
- The grounds behind the cathedral
About this tour
This session leaves the cathedral behind and walks through the park that surrounds the former bishops' palace next door. You see the ponds and old trees near the entrance and quieter paths further in, away from the crowds. It is a calmer, slower session than my cathedral call.
I begin with a short sound check near the ponds, then walk further into the park along its quieter paths. There is time for questions throughout, and I send a short note afterwards on the park's history.
This suits anyone who wants a calmer side of Oliwa or has already visited the cathedral and wants the wider grounds. It also works well earlier in the day, before the park fills up.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Gdansk before heading out.
-
The Palace Park Ponds 15 min
You see the ponds and old trees of the park laid out beside the former bishops' palace, and I explain how the grounds have changed since they opened to the public.
-
The Park's Quiet Corners 15 min
Further in, the camera slows down along paths away from the main entrance, and I point out corners that stay quiet even when the cathedral nearby is busy.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Gdansk: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Pierogi and Main Town (Główne Miasto), worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Warsaw time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
