A quiet Tiergarten morning
Highlights
- Waterfowl on a quiet pond
- Trees replanted after wartime loss
- Tiergarten before the crowds
- A shaded avenue, explained slowly
- A calm start to a busy city
About this tour
This session stays in Tiergarten early in the morning, from a quiet pond to a shaded avenue of mature trees. You see waterfowl nesting on the water through spring and summer. The session finishes on the avenue, much of it replanted after wartime damage and fuel shortages stripped the park bare.
We meet before the park gets busy, so the sound stays calm throughout. I walk slowly and answer questions as they come about the park's planting and its wartime history. Afterwards I send a short note on what we saw.
This suits anyone who prefers a calmer, greener side of central Berlin. It also works well paired with the Victory Column session for a fuller park visit.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary

Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Berlin before heading out.
-
A quiet pond 15 min
The camera settles on one of the park's smaller ponds early in the morning, and I point out the waterfowl that nest here through spring and summer.
-
An avenue of old trees 15 min
We walk a shaded avenue of mature trees, and I explain how much of the original planting had to be replaced after wartime damage and fuel shortages.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Berlin: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Döner kebab and Kreuzberg, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Berlin time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 7 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
