About this tour
This session climbs through the pine woods below Bellver Castle to the clearing with the best view of its round towers. You see the trail, the pines planted on the hillside, and the castle from below rather than from inside its walls. It is a quieter way to see the same landmark most visitors only reach by road.
We move at an easy pace since the path has a gentle climb, and I stop wherever the trees frame the castle well. I answer questions about the woods and the castle's unusual round design as we go. Near the top I let the camera rest on the view for a moment before we head back down.
This suits anyone who prefers a quieter, greener route to a landmark over the usual approach. It also works well in the early morning when the woods are at their calmest.

The path climbs through pine trees planted to stop the hillside eroding. I point out where the trees open up for the first clear view of the castle's circular walls above.

From this clearing you get the classic view of Bellver's round towers against the sky, without going up to the entrance itself. I explain why the castle was built as a circle rather than the usual square shape.
