A market morning: cheese, olives and flowers
Highlights
- A market list built stall by stall
- Which cheeses are worth the queue
- Flower stalls at their freshest
- Local tips before you shop alone
- A short list to take with you
About this tour
This call is a planning session built around Place Richelme, the market at the heart of Aix. We talk through what is in season this week, which cheese and olive stalls are worth seeking out, and which mornings the flower sellers set up their best stock. It is built for someone who wants a market visit to go well rather than a live walk through it.
We open with a quick sound check, then go stall by stall based on what I have seen there recently. You can ask about anything specific, a dish, a cheese, a gift to bring home, and I will work it into the list. By the end you have a short written list of stalls and what to ask for.
This suits anyone planning their own visit to the market and wanting local knowledge before they go. It also suits early risers who would rather plan the night before than decide on the morning.

Planning your market list 17 min
We go through what is in season at Place Richelme this week, from the cheese stalls to the flower sellers, and I check which vendors are there that day. You leave the call with a short list of stalls and what to ask for.

Ask anything that is still on your mind, there is no fixed script.

You get a short follow-up message with everything mentioned, so you do not have to remember it all.

- Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The call is not recorded. Keep your own note of anything you want to remember, or wait for the follow-up message.

Questions about this tour
What will the call cover?
The guide talks you through Aix-en-Provence: where to go, what to eat, and answers to whatever you ask.
What happens if the call drops?
The guide will try you again straight away.
Can I ask the guide questions during the session, or is it a fixed script?
Anything, any time. Sessions leave room for your own questions throughout, not just at the end.
Do I need to buy or cook anything?
No. This is a conversation: the guide describes the dishes and where to find them, so you can try them yourself whenever suits you.
How it works
- Your guide calls the number you give at booking.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
