About this tour
This session follows Aveiro's best-known sweet from its shell-shaped wafer cases through to the barrels they are sold in near the fish market. Isabel, who worked in a workshop making them for years, explains the egg and sugar filling in more detail than most visitors ever hear. You see the production side as well as the finished counter display.
Isabel keeps her phone close on the trays and barrels so the detail is clear, moving at an unhurried pace between the two stops. She answers questions about the recipe as honestly as she can, including where her own knowledge runs out. A short list of where she buys her own ovos moles follows the call.
This suits anyone curious about a regional sweet beyond simply seeing it in a shop window. It also suits viewers planning to send Portuguese sweets home who want to know what to look for.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
