About this tour
This session shows Ölüdeniz from above and from the shoreline, with a stop on the ridge where paragliders launch. You see the sheltered lagoon from a high viewpoint, look up at Babadağ where the flights begin, then come back down to the water's edge. Together the three views explain why this stretch of coast looks the way it does.
I open with a sound check from the viewpoint, then we move down toward the water while you ask about the flights and the geography. I try to time the ridge stop for when a few paragliders are in the air. At the end I send a short note on the names of what you saw.
This suits anyone drawn to photographs of this coastline who wants to understand what actually makes the lagoon and the flights work. It also suits someone deciding whether to add a flight to their own trip.

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Fethiye before heading out.

Ölüdeniz Viewpoint Road 21 min
From high on the road above the lagoon, the camera takes in the turquoise water and the long sand spit that closes it off from the open sea. I explain why the water here stays so still.

Babadağ Ridge 21 min
You look up at the mountain where paragliders launch through the afternoon. I explain the wind pattern that makes this particular ridge so reliable for flying.

Ölüdeniz Shoreline 21 min
The camera comes down to the water's edge, where the sand spit meets the lagoon. I point out how the colour of the water changes with the depth of the sand beneath it.
