  • Dairy sold beneath decorative walls
  • One of the city's most unusual shopfronts

About this tour

This session moves around Pfunds Molkerei, a working dairy shop known for its tiled interior. You see painted ceramic panels that have decorated the walls since the 1890s. The session finishes at the counter, where dairy products are still sold daily alongside the sightseeing.

We open with a short sound check just inside the door, since the shop can be busy. I move slowly around the tiling, since the detail rewards a closer look from several angles, and take questions throughout. Afterwards I send a short note on the shop's history and a few products worth trying.

This suits anyone with an interest in decorative tilework or unusual working shops. It also works well as a short session alongside a longer Neustadt walk.

Included

  • Live video session with a local guide
  • A close look at the dishes and where locals buy them
  • A short list of places and dishes to try later

Not included

  • Food and drinks shown on camera
  • Travel to the city

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Dresden before heading out.

  2. Pfunds Molkerei interior 15 min

The camera moves slowly around the tiled walls of the shop, and I point out the painted ceramic panels that have decorated the space since the 1890s.

  3. The counter and cheese display 15 min

We stop at the counter itself, and I explain how the shop still sells dairy products daily despite drawing visitors mainly for its decoration.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Dresden: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Elbe valley wine and Altstadt, worth a slower look.

  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 7 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
