Palacio de Miramar, a garden between two beaches
Highlights
- A royal summer palace on a headland
- Two beaches, seen from one garden
- Gardens open since the mid 1900s
- Why a queen chose this exact spot
- San Sebastián's quietest sea view
About this tour
This session shows the Palacio de Miramar, a former royal summer residence on the headland between San Sebastián's two main beaches. You see the palace exterior and its gardens, open to the public since the mid twentieth century. Gorka explains why this spot, overlooking both beaches at once, suited a royal family's summer visits.
The walk stays within the gardens, with Gorka pointing toward each beach in turn as the camera takes in the view. He answers questions about the palace's royal history as they come up.
This suits anyone interested in the city's royal past as much as its views. It also works well as a calm session between two of the city's busier walks.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
