Pollok Country Park's woods and open ground
Highlights
- A wooded path with signs of wildlife
- Deer tracks and woodpecker holes
- Wide open grazing land
- Highland cattle kept in the city
- Glasgow's largest park, largely unchanged
About this tour
This session walks through Pollok Country Park's woodland before opening onto wide grazing land, the largest park in Glasgow. You see tall trees closing overhead and signs of wildlife along the path, then open parkland where Highland cattle are sometimes kept. Liam explains how the park has stayed largely unchanged since it passed into public hands.
After a short sound check at the woodland edge, the walk moves through the trees and out into open ground, with time for questions throughout. Liam answers as you go and sends a short note afterwards on the best times to spot wildlife.
It suits anyone who wants a genuinely natural side of Glasgow away from its museums and streets, and works well for families. It also appeals to birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
