Torres de Quart, scarred by siege
Highlights
- A second surviving medieval city gate
- Stone scarred by an early nineteenth-century siege
- Individual cannon marks, seen up close
- A gate that recorded its own history
- Military history written into old stone
About this tour
This session looks at Torres de Quart, a surviving medieval gate on the opposite side of the old town from Serranos. You see the twin towers and, up close, the individual marks left by cannon fire during an early nineteenth-century siege. It is a short, tangible record of a specific historical event.
I start at the main facade and move close enough for the cannon marks to read clearly on camera, explaining the siege as we go. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note once we finish.
This suits anyone interested in military history rather than only architecture. It also pairs well with a session on Torres de Serranos for the two surviving gates together.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
