Picasso Museum courtyard and Calle San Agustín
Highlights
- A 16th-century palace courtyard
- A collection described, not filmed
- A street near Picasso's birthplace
- Context before a ticket
- History outside a museum's walls
About this tour
This session shows the entrance courtyard of Museo Picasso Málaga, housed in a 16th-century palace, and the narrow street outside it. You hear a description of what the collection holds from someone who knows it well, since the galleries themselves cannot be filmed. The route stays outside and in the courtyard throughout.
We begin at the courtyard with a short check of the light, then move out to the street, pausing to explain the museum's location and history. I answer questions about the collection from memory as we go and send a short note on the donated works afterward.
This suits anyone deciding whether to buy a ticket for the museum itself, and travellers who want context before or instead of a visit. It works well as a short session ahead of a longer day.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Malaga before heading out.
-
The palace courtyard 15 min
The camera holds on the 16th-century palace courtyard that now houses the museum's entrance, and I describe several of the donated works inside from what I know, since filming the galleries themselves is not permitted.
-
Calle San Agustín 15 min
You see the narrow street outside, lined with other historic buildings, and I explain how the museum's location was chosen partly for its closeness to Picasso's birthplace nearby.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Malaga: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Vino dulce de Málaga and Centro Histórico, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
