Hıdırlık Tower and the clifftop walls
Highlights
- Round stone tower on the clifftop
- Lighthouse or tomb, two theories
- Walls running along the cliff edge
- A view down to the water
- Walls that once continued much further
About this tour
This short session focuses on Hıdırlık Tower and the stretch of clifftop wall beside it. You see the round stone tower up close, then the camera follows the walls along the cliff edge with the sea below. The session sticks to this one quiet corner of the old town rather than covering the wider area.
I start with a sound check at the base of the tower, then we move along the wall while you ask questions about its history. I pause where the view over the water is clearest. At the end I send a short note on the two theories about the tower's original use.
This suits anyone with limited time who still wants one clear, well explained stop. It also works as a shorter add-on before a longer walk through the rest of Kaleiçi.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

The camera looks up at the round stone tower on the clifftop. I explain the two main theories about its original purpose, a lighthouse or a tomb.

You follow the walls running along the cliff edge nearby. I point out the view down to the water and explain how the walls once continued much further.

-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Tandır kebabı (slow-roasted lamb) and Konyaaltı, worth a slower look.

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
