Toulouse's covered passages and quiet courtyards
Highlights
- A nineteenth-century covered passage
- Ironwork and glass locals rarely notice
- A Renaissance courtyard's original daily use
- Toulouse's quieter corners, explained
- Small details away from the main square
About this tour
This session finds the quieter side of central Toulouse, from a covered nineteenth-century passage to the calm courtyard of a Renaissance mansion. You see corners of the city that a faster walk usually misses. It moves at a slower pace built around small, specific details.
We take our time in the passage first, since the light and ironwork photograph well there, then move to the courtyard for a longer, quieter second stop. I keep the pace relaxed throughout and leave plenty of room for questions about anything we pass. A short list of the spots covered follows the call.
This suits anyone who has already seen Toulouse's main square and wants something quieter and more detailed. It also works well for travellers who prefer smaller, specific stories over a general overview.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Toulouse before heading out.
-
Passage Ducuing 21 min
The camera follows a narrow covered passage cutting between two streets, the kind of shortcut only regular residents tend to know about. I point out the ironwork and glass roof that dates the passage to the nineteenth century.
-
Hôtel d'Assézat courtyard 21 min
We step into the quiet Renaissance courtyard, empty enough at this hour to hear your own footsteps on the stone. I explain how a working courtyard like this was originally used by the household that built it.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Toulouse: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Violettes de Toulouse and Capitole centre historique, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
