About this tour

This session moves from the Mercado Central, a modernist market hall from 1903, out to the Puente de Piedra, the stone bridge that has crossed the Ebro in some form since medieval times. You see the market's ironwork up close and the bridge connecting two sides of the city that have always depended on each other. Diego explains how market and bridge have sat close together for centuries.

The walk moves from the market's counters out onto the bridge itself, with Diego pointing out the basilica's domes visible from the crossing. He answers questions about the market's produce and the bridge's history as they come up.

This suits anyone who wants a practical, everyday side of Zaragoza alongside its grander landmarks. It also works well as a short first stop before exploring the old town further.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
