About this tour

This session moves through Parque de María Luisa, the large public garden built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, from its tiled literary benches to its palm avenues and ponds. You see ceramic detail up close and the wider layout designed by a French landscape architect. The route stays shaded and calm throughout, away from the busier plaza next door.

We begin at the benches with a quick check of the framing, then walk the avenues toward the ponds, pausing wherever the light or the birdlife is worth a moment. I answer questions about the park's design as we go and send a short note on its history afterward.

This suits anyone who wants a calm, green session after a day of denser monuments, and travellers who enjoy garden design. It works well in the early evening as the heat eases.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Seville before heading out.

  2. The tiled benches 15 min

The camera settles on a row of tiled benches built for the 1929 exhibition, each representing a different Spanish writer, and I point out the ceramic detail on the one nearest us.

  3. The ponds and palm avenues 15 min

You see the park's long palm-lined avenues and one of its ponds, home to ducks and, at a distance, a resident population of doves, and I explain how the layout was designed by a French landscape architect.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Seville: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Salmorejo and Triana, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
