Jardin Darcy and the botanical garden
Highlights
- A formal garden's symmetrical fountains
- A grotto tucked into a quiet corner
- A tree-lined path between two gardens
- Century-old specimens in the botanical garden
- Ninety minutes of Dijon's green spaces
About this tour
This longer session links two of Dijon's green spaces, from the formal Jardin Darcy near the station to the botanical Jardin de l'Arquebuse further on. You see fountains and symmetrical flowerbeds before a quieter path leads to greenhouse glass and labelled plants. Baptiste explains how both gardens fit into the city's history despite their different styles.
The call opens with a sound check at Jardin Darcy, then follows the connecting path at a relaxed pace. Baptiste answers questions throughout and lingers at the botanical garden, where the detail rewards a slower look. A short list of the stops follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone who wants a calmer, greener side of Dijon. It also suits viewers with a general interest in gardens or botany.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 7 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Dijon before heading out.
-
Jardin Darcy 21 min
The camera takes in the formal 19th-century garden near the station, fountains and flowerbeds laid out symmetrically. I point out the small grotto tucked into one corner, easy to miss from the main path.
-
Path toward the Arquebuse 21 min
You see a quieter tree-lined path connecting the two gardens, a calm stretch away from the old town's crowds. I explain how the two green spaces ended up on opposite sides of the same walk.
-
Jardin de l'Arquebuse 21 min
The camera settles in the botanical garden, greenhouse glass visible behind rows of labelled plants. I point out a few specimens that have grown here for over a century.
-
Your questions 14 min
Time to ask anything about Dijon: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 6 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Escargots de Bourgogne and Rue Musette / Les Halles quarter, worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
