About this tour
This session follows Vienna's turn-of-the-century art scene through its buildings, from the gold dome of the Secession to Otto Wagner's stations at Karlsplatz. You see the MuseumsQuartier courtyard and hear about the Schiele collection held inside the Leopold Museum. It closes with a mention of the Belvedere, home to Klimt's The Kiss.
The guide opens with a sound check outside the Secession, then walks between the three sites at an easy pace, stopping to explain each building's design. You can ask about Klimt, Schiele or the Wiener Werkstätte designers throughout the call. A short list of the museums and what they hold is sent afterwards.
This suits anyone planning gallery visits in Vienna who wants the buildings explained first, and anyone with an interest in Klimt or Schiele who has not yet seen the city itself. It also works for revisiting a period of art history at a relaxed pace.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 7 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Vienna before heading out.
-
The Secession building 21 min
The camera stops outside the Secession, its gold-leaf dome nicknamed the golden cabbage by locals. The guide describes the Beethoven Frieze kept in the basement and explains why the building itself was designed as a statement against the old academy.
-
Karlsplatz pavilions 21 min
At Karlsplatz the camera moves between Otto Wagner's twin pavilions, tiled in white and gold and built as stations for the old city railway. The guide points out the details that mark them as early modern design rather than imperial style.
-
MuseumsQuartier courtyard 21 min
In the MuseumsQuartier courtyard, once the imperial stables, the camera shows the Leopold Museum's white stone block from outside. The guide talks through the Schiele collection held inside and, briefly, the Belvedere across town where Klimt's The Kiss hangs.
-
Your questions 14 min
Time to ask anything about Vienna: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 6 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Kaiserschmarrn and Innere Stadt, worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
