About this tour

This session follows the Friday food market at Odprta kuhna and the Central Market beside it, moving between cooks preparing kranjska klobasa, štruklji and prekmurska gibanica. The camera also stops at the market's cheese, honey and wine stalls. It gives a sense of what a Friday evening looks like in Ljubljana without leaving home.

After a sound check, the guide walks stall to stall, letting the camera show the food and answering questions about what is on offer. A short list of dishes and where to find them is sent once the call ends.

This suits anyone interested in Slovenian food or markets, or anyone planning a Friday evening in Ljubljana. It also works for those who remember the market from a past visit.

Included

  • Live video session with a local guide
  • A close look at the dishes and where locals buy them
  • A short list of places and dishes to try later

  4. Central Market 21 min

Moving to the covered Central Market designed by Plečnik, the camera lingers over the cheese and honey stalls, and at a wine stand the guide points out a bottle of Rebula and explains what sets it apart from Teran.

  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
