Aisha Rahman

I grew up on Cowley Road in a Bangladeshi family who ran a shop there for years, so I guide the street I actually know rather than the colleges I only visited as a child on school trips. My sessions cover the restaurants, the music venues and the shopfronts that have opened and closed along the road for as long as I can remember. I like explaining how the street's character shifted as different communities settled here in turn, since that history rarely makes it into standard Oxford guides. I answer honestly when a question is outside what I know and point people towards someone who does.
