Aleksi Heikkinen

I grew up in a city rebuilt almost entirely after 1944, so I still point out to viewers which buildings actually date from before the war, since there are very few. On camera I stand on the exact line marking the Arctic Circle and explain what changes there through the year, from constant daylight in June to weeks without a sunrise in December. I studied local history and worked one winter at Arktikum before guiding full time. I keep the pace steady and let the light itself, whatever it is doing that day, set the mood of the call.
