I have guided in Bologna for fifteen years, long before video calls were how anyone saw the city, and I still start most sessions at the foot of the Asinelli tower, camera tilted up so the lean of its neighbour, the Garisenda, is obvious against the sky. I explain how both towers were built as private status symbols rather than defences, and why so few of the original hundred or more survive. On camera I prefer wide, steady shots over quick movement, since a viewer following a screen needs more stability than someone actually walking the street. I take questions properly rather than rushing through them.
