Amaia Arrieta

I have followed Athletic Bilbao since I was a child, and San Mamés, known locally as La Catedral, is still where I start most of my sessions before walking the riverside redevelopment nearby. On camera I explain what the stadium's nickname means to people here and then move along Abandoibarra, showing how a former industrial riverbank became parkland and museums within a couple of decades. I try to hold both sides of the city together in one walk, the football and the regeneration, since locals rarely separate them. I like that video lets me show both without asking anyone to walk the whole distance.
