Andrea Mancini

I studied classical history and now spend most of my working week between two very different corners of Rome, a grand baroque square and a quiet modern museum built around an ancient altar. On camera at Piazza del Popolo I hold on the twin churches at its southern end, since most photographs only capture the obelisk at the centre. At the Ara Pacis I explain how the carved reliefs were meant to be read as a story, moving along them the way an ancient visitor originally would have.
