Ane Uriarte

I studied art history at the University of the Basque Country and worked for four years in the education department of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, running workshops for schools and training volunteers. I left to guide independently in 2020 because I wanted to talk about the building and the city together. The Guggenheim did not appear in empty space. It was built on a former shipyard and timber yard at Abandoibarra, and you cannot understand the museum without understanding the industrial Bilbao that collapsed in the 1980s. My tours cover both. I guide in Basque, Spanish and English. I prepare carefully, I keep to the announced times, and I adapt the content to the group: architects, families and people who simply like looking at things all get something different from the same walk.
