I grew up a few steps from the Marktplatz, close enough to hear the church bells my whole life. On camera I like starting where the tower meets the lake, since that exact angle is the one everyone recognises from photographs without ever knowing where it was taken. My grandmother worked seasons in the salt mine's ticket office, so I heard mining stories long before I read them in any book. I keep my calls unhurried and let the water and the light do most of the talking, especially in the early hours before the day boats start crossing.
