About Anna

I was born at the Ospedale Civile, which occupies the old Scuola Grande di San Marco, so I like to say I started life in a Renaissance building. I studied history at Ca' Foscari and worked for the city archive before becoming a licensed guide in 2019. My walks cover the parts of Venice that most visitors never reach: Castello, where the Arsenale could build a galley a day at its peak, and Cannaregio, where the Ghetto was established in 1516 and gave the word to the rest of the world. I explain how the city works: why the wells were sealed, how fresh water arrives today, where the rubbish boats go in the morning. I do not cover San Marco, apart from pointing it out from a distance. I guide live on video now, walking Venice with my phone and answering your questions in real time.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
