Anna Voulgaraki

I play in a small ensemble that rehearses inside the old Neratze Mosque, now used as a concert hall, so its minaret and its acoustics both feel like home to me. On video I start at the Rimondi Fountain nearby, following the water from its three lion-head spouts before walking the short distance to the mosque itself. I explain how the building moved from Ottoman prayer hall to municipal concert venue without losing its minaret. I keep the pace easy through the old lanes between the two, since the balconies overhead are worth looking up at as often as the street itself.
