Anne Bakker

I studied art history at the university here and now spend most of my sessions in and around Amsterdam's museum quarter, though I never take you inside a ticketed hall itself. On camera I like holding on a single building's facade long enough that its details actually register, whether that is a museum entrance or a converted electricity substation turned gallery. I try to explain why a piece of architecture looks the way it does rather than just naming it. What keeps me doing this after nine years is how often a returning viewer tells me they finally understood something they had walked past for years without noticing.
