Antoine Girard

I trained as a sculptor before I started guiding, so the Broken Chair outside the UN and the Reformation Wall in Parc des Bastions are the two works I most enjoy explaining on camera. At the chair, I talk through the choice of a broken leg as a monument against landmines, a detail easy to miss from a distance. At the wall, I walk along the row of reformer statues, pointing out the scale each one was given relative to their historical influence. I keep both sessions focused on how the pieces were made as much as what they represent. I answer questions about technique whenever they come up.
