Antoine Girardot

Fort Royal on Île Sainte-Marguerite is where I spend most of my working days, walking its walls and the wooded paths around it once the last boat of visitors has thinned out. On camera I like pointing the phone into a cell said to have held the Man in the Iron Mask, then out to the pines and the quiet paths further from the fort. I trained originally as a nature guide, which shows in how much time I give to the island's trees and light rather than just its history. I keep a calm pace and leave real pauses for people to look.
