I grew up in Mlino, close enough to the shore that I learned to row a pletna before I could properly swim. On camera I like to circle the whole lake at a walking pace, since the island and the castle look completely different depending on which side you are standing on. My grandfather was one of the licensed pletna oarsmen, and a few families still hold that right today, passed down the same way it was to him. I keep my calls unhurried and stop wherever the light on the water changes enough to be worth a longer look.
