I studied medieval archives in Dublin before moving home to Kilkenny, and the merchant records at Rothe House are still my favourite thing to talk about on a call. I like showing details a guidebook skips, the carved doorways on High Street, the workshops set inside the old castle stables, the round tower's proportions against the cathedral beside it. On video I work slowly and let people steer the camera if something catches their eye. Six years of guiding here has taught me that the best sessions are the ones where I talk less and answer what people actually ask.
