I have run and walked in Belgrade Forest for years, long before I ever thought about guiding, and I still know which paths get quiet even on a busy weekend. I trained as a guide to show a side of Istanbul that has nothing to do with mosques or bazaars, since most visitors never realise the city has forest this dense so close to its centre. On camera I like keeping the trees in frame rather than talking over them, since the point of this session is the quiet as much as anything I could say about it.
