I trained in art history and now spend most of my working week inside MUSMA, where contemporary sculpture sits in cave rooms carved long before anyone thought to hang art in them. On camera I like lingering on that contrast, a modern bronze against raw tufa stone, because it says something true about how Matera keeps reinventing the same old spaces. After dark I sometimes take a call from a terrace above Sasso Caveoso instead, since the town looks completely different lit up than it does at midday, and viewers are often surprised by how lively it gets.
