I trained as a jeweller before I started guiding, so Galway's craft lanes and the university's old stone quadrangle are where my sessions naturally sit. On camera I move slowly past workshop windows and carved stonework alike, since both reward a close, steady look rather than a quick pass. Four years of guiding on video has taught me to let a detail sit on screen before I explain it, and to keep the group small enough that everyone's questions actually get answered. I still work part time at my bench, so I bring a maker's eye to whatever I am showing.
