Bastille has almost nothing left of the actual prison, and I like explaining what replaced it instead of pretending the walls are still standing. I worked in a bar near the square for years before guiding became my main work. On camera I keep the phone steady through the busier streets and let the noise carry some of the atmosphere itself. I reply fast and prefer short answers over long ones. French and English both work for my calls, and I know exactly which streets get loud first.
