Damjan Kavčič

I grew up a few doors from Tartini Square, close enough to hear the church bell from St George's every hour of my childhood. On camera I like starting right on the oval stone of the square, since almost nobody realises it was once open water before the town filled it in. My grandfather worked the salt pans outside town, so I grew up hearing how the whole local economy once depended on that one white crop. I keep my calls at a steady pace and answer questions about the town's Venetian past in as much detail as anyone wants.
